Race Day...

27th Jan 2013

Over the past 3 days I have been working for Richard Mansfield, Mountain Adventure Guides in La Clusaz.

It was the annual Hiscox ski trip which I have worked on for the last 6 years.  It is always great to see familiar faces.

We had superb conditions for the Friday and Saturday ensuring that we got plenty of skiing done.  Sunday is always race day for them ... Ski racing is often reserved for the elite so it is great to see everyone get the opportunity to have a blast through the gates.  The race was as competitive as ever and saw a new men's and women's champion. The course was longer than normal and it caught a few people out on the 2nd run which saw a record number of falls.

Today was also race day for Alex Tilley.  Alex and I both raced with the same club in Scotland, Gordon Skiers, and for a brief period I coached Alex.  Today she was delighted to make her World Cup debut.  Well done Alex!
