First Ski of the Season

14th Nov 2013

It's always exciting to put skis on again for the first time after a break from the sport.  Yesterday was no exception.  I was also intrigued to see if my regular visits to Neil and Hannah's Ski Fit class had made a difference.

We headed through to Cervinia (1hr 45min from Chamonix).  They are working hard to get more lifts open there but at the moment all of the skiing is on the Zermatt side.  The pistes were in excellent condition, as they so often are at this time of year.  It wasn't too busy so there was plenty of space to enjoy them.

The off-piste is beginning to fill in but the majority of it was windblown.  There looked to be some lovely tracks coming down from the Breithorn (4164m).

It was great to get ski legs back again.  My legs felt good at this morning's Ski Fit class without too much effect from yesterday's skiing, so I reckon the classes are paying off.
