Ski Performance for Mountaineers

20th Dec 2013

We've just finished the first Ski Performance for Mountaineers courses of the season.  Both Dee and I have been out teaching in the mornings and afternoons with keen mountaineers who were looking to developing their off-piste skiing skills.

The course had a day off on Wednesday to allow time for skills to be consolidated or have a rest. Some of the group headed off touring in the Aravis.  I was delivering private lessons to Mel, Paul and Graeme who had all been on Ski Performance for Mountaineers previously and were looking to find out where to take their skiing next...

It was great to see everyone making substantial improvements throughout the week and set themselves up for the season ahead.  We skied at Les Grands Montets each day, as this seems to be where the best snow is in the Chamonix valley at the moment.  Whilst conditions are limited it was great to see it snowing again on Thursday for the first time in 19 days!  There are still lots of rocks about so it would be wise to take out old skis or hire some.
