How much will my lift pass cost?
How many people does a course need to run?
We guarantee to run all of our courses, even if only 1 person has booked on it. In this way you can be assured that once you have booked that it will run, and you can go ahead and make transport and accommodation arrangements if required.
Where can I buy insurance?
It is your responsibility to ensure that you are adequately insured for the courses that you book. We recommend BMC insurance and Snowcard. Carré Neige, which is available in resort when you buy your lift pass, does not cover you for ski touring, but will cover you for off-piste skiing from the lifts in France. Search and rescue insurance is available from the Office de Moyenne et Haute Montagne (DIOT Insurance) in Chamonix (currently 5.50 Euro per day).
Where should I hire ski equipment from?
Ski Perf is an excellent shop in Les Houches with a friendly owner - an excellent place to get your skis serviced too. Sanglards in Chamonix offer a great service, have their own parking, and you can hire ski touring equipment and transceivers from them too. If you are skiing at Grand Montet then Grand Montet Sports are right at the bottom of the lifts making it easy to pick up your equipment or ski touring kit.
Where can I buy skis and boots from in the UK?
Braemar Mountain Sports (who also have stores in Aviemore and Ballater) team is made up of Outdoor & Industry Professionals with a passion for alpine and nordic touring, climbing and cycling and a general love of the outdoors. They are a real bricks and mortar store with over 40 years experience and a wealth of product knowledge. The Bothy coffee shop next door is very good too!
Backcountry UK are an independent retailer in the Yorkshire, providing quality equipment for skiing, walking and climbing. Their speciality is fitting footwear.
Where can I stay in Chamonix?
Ski Breezy is ideal for single people on courses or a groups of friends. It is a good way to meet other people. It has a very relaxed atmosphere with emphasis on lots of excellent home cooking and flowing wine. Breezy and Al will ensure that you are well looked after, making this our preferred accommodation option for all of our courses.
For hotel accommodation in Chamonix Hotel Chaumiere is a great option. It has its own parking and it's possible to walk to the centre of town. Hotel Le Dahu is a good option for staying in Argentière, as is Hotel Les Lanchers in Les Praz.

Who can I hire to go snow shoeing?
Snow shoeing is an excellent activity to do if you are a non skier in the Chamonix valley or fancy a change from skiing. British Snow Shoe Tours do group and individual days out.
How do I get from Geneva Airport to Chamonix?
The best way is to use a transfer company that offer a door to door service. We recommend Mountain Drop-Offs and Alplinks. Off Piste Performance clients are offered a discount with Mountain Drop Offs. Please email for the discount code.
