Chamonix Ski Weekend Forecast

13th Jan 2012

Today was the final day of our third Ski Performance for Mountaineers course of the season.  We really couldn't have asked for more with the conditions.  We had clear blue skies every day, but it stayed cold meaning that the snow stayed good too.  However we did manage to find some windblown snow, and some that had been affected by the sun on south facing slopes meaning we could practice in not so good snow as well!

Conditions are good everywhere; most of the rocks off-piste are covered, the bowls are well filled in and the pistes are in an immaculate state being well groomed each evening.  The weather forecast this weekend is good so the decision of where to ski is really best based on whether you want to ski in the sun or in the shade.  It is due to be quite cold so if you'd rather be in the sun then head to Brévent or Flégère (better to access from Flégère where the parking is free).  This week more people have been heading for the sun which has meant Les Grands Montets has been very quiet.  If you can cope with the cold then head to Les Grands Montets and you'll find less people there.

Enjoy your weekend.
