Eagle Ski Club

24th Jan 2014

It has been great to work with the Eagle Ski Club for a second year in a row.  The Eagle Ski Club is the UK's largest ski mountaineering club.  The club organises over 50 trips per year, catering for a wide range of abilities.

The purpose of the week is for members to have the opportunity to develop their ski technique in order to be more efficient when ski touring.  As a result the downhill sections will become more enjoyable.  We had an excellent week and considerable improvements were witnessed, and felt, from everybody.  We had poor visibility at the beginning of the week that meant ideal conditions for practicing to ski in difficult situations.  On Wednesday the weather cleared allowing us to access some great skiing in the back bowls at Le Tour.

Today was an opportunity to put all the newfound skills into practice on a tour with IFMGA Mountain Guides James Thacker and Rob Jarvis.  The team had an excellent day on the Croisse Baulet above Combloux.
