Ski Performance for Mountaineers with "Team Keswick"

18th Jan 2013

This has been a fantastic week for skiing in Chamonix.  The temperature has stayed low and as a result the snow has been in excellent condition with some great powder to be found.

It's been a busy week with 23 people on our Ski Performance for Mountaineers course many of them returning for a 2nd time.  Shona from BASS Chamonix took 2 of the groups.  They braved the cold for yet another day at Les Grands Montets and had a great ski down to Le Lavancher.

I headed for the sun today at Flégère.  Although we found some good off-piste the highlight of the day was having a go at the "speed slope".  The fastest speed clocked was 108kph.  The boys were heading back for another go after lunch so it may have been beaten!

On this week's course was Beccy Coles who was awarded the free place in memory of Chris Walker.  By coincidence 2 of the trustees were also on the course.  Had Chris been here I am pretty sure he would have been in a good time on the "speed slope"...
