Winter has returned ...

Last week was the final Ski Performance for Mountaineers course for this season, but with the temperatures down to -15 degrees it felt like a December course. It was a fantastic week with everyone adding to their "tool box" to take forward into the ski touring season.
On Saturday I headed through to Italy for a day tour above the Benevolo Hut. I didn't think the snow was that great but those that were on "proper" skis assured me that it was actually quite nice! I was out on my light weight race skis in preparation for a couple of ski mountaineering races at the end of the season. There are some photos from the day posted here.
Winter has definitely returned with 25 - 40 cm of snow forecast for tonight and tomorrow.
