Our Ethos and Philosophy
For a while now we have been talking about writing a blog about our values and philosophy. In fact, we have talked about it a lot and were no closer to putting pen to paper. So what changed?
Well, as I sit here on “Black Friday” my inbox is full of emails, newsletters and notifications containing cut price products and even some discounted ski holidays, courses and trips. Now, being British we are just a bit reticent when it comes to talking about our values. So here we go, with that in mind I am going to explain the values behind our courses and trips.
Our values are that of Off Piste Performance, the ski instructional and guiding services of Alison (previously Culshaw) and James Thacker, a dual Ski Instructor (ISTD) and British Mountain Guide (IFMGA) team.
Recently married, that makes us a husband and wife team and a family business. Alison’s sister Gillian runs the mainstay of Off Piste Performance’s Scottish programme with the increasingly popular Ski Performance Scotland weekends.
Courses in Chamonix and in Scotland cover instruction and guiding only, allowing you to choose suitable accommodation to suit your budget and specification.
Off Piste Performance’s ski trips to Arctic Norway are a case in point, here we provide an all inclusive package (with the one exception of flights). Airport transfers, transport including ferries, accommodation, catering on a full board basis, not to mention skilled ski guiding and ski instruction are all included. Why? Because it’s your holiday, and we would rather you can enjoy it without having to put your hand in your pocket. Or be responsible for self catering, unless of course you really insist.
Customer care and developing sustainable relationships with our clients is essential to our business and at the forefront of our minds.
To provide the best off piste instruction, coaching and guiding with a culture of safety.
To realise our guests aims and aspirations and wherever possible exceed them.
To deliver courses and trips that meet the needs of individual clients and are suited to their ability levels, adding instructional value wherever possible.
We strive to make booking as easy as possible for all our clients. Remaining course places are always listed on our website, but bookings cannot be completed entirely online. While it would be easy to do this, we do like to communicate with all our clients directly to fulfil our aim of ensuring that you are on the right course or trip and the correct level.
Book - Ski - Guaranteed
Once we have confirmed your booking we are committed to running your trip or course. We are often asked if courses have reached the minimum numbers to run. We will always run courses following the first booking. We understand that making travel arrangements and plans take time and effort. So in short, you Book, you Ski, Guaranteed.
Location, Location, Location
The strength in any course or trip is the location, and we carefully select our course locations carefully to give the best possible trips. That often means that we will have visited areas before, so we can offer the best service possible.
